An Overview of the MIPS-X-MP Project
نویسندگان
چکیده
MIPS-X-MP is a research project whose end goal is to build a sma.lI (workstation-sized) multiprocessor with a total throughput of 100-200 mips. The architectural approach uses a small number (tens) of high performance RISCbased microprocessors (lo-20 mips each). The multipmsor architecture uses software-controlled cache coherency to a.Ilow cooperation among processors without sacrificing performance of the processors. Software technology for automatically decomposing problems to allow the entire machine to be concentrated on a single problem is a key component of the research. This report surveys the four key components of the project: high performance VLSI processor architecture and design, multiprocessor architectural studies, multiprocessor programming systems, and optimizing compiler technology.

MIPS-X: A 20-MIPS Peak, 32-bit Microprocessor with On-Chip Cache
MIPS-X is a 32-bit RISC microprocessor implemented in a conservative 2-p m, two-level-metal, n-well CMOS technology. High performance is achieved by using a nonoverlapping two-phase 20-MHz clock and executing one instruction every cycle. To reduce its memory bandwidth requirements, MIPS-X includes a 2-kbyte on-chip instruction cache. This cache satisfies 90 percent of all instruction fetches, a...
متن کاملImprovement of project management office performance: An empirical investigation of effective factors in iranian construction industry
Project management office (PMO) is a new emerging concept in Iranian construction industry. Executives expect this organizational unit to add value to the business, and meet the demands of stakeholders by performing specialized tasks ranging from providing project management support to portfolio management. In this regard, PMO managers have long faced the question of how to improve the performa...

Acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) accounts for nearly 30% of pediatric cancers. The maintenance treatment for ALL comprises daily oral 6-mercaptopurine (6-MP) and weekly methotrexate (MTX). 6-MP is a purine analog that can significantly improve the long-term survival of ALL patients. Despite more than 90% of 5-year survival of childhood ALL in developed countries, treatment interruption due to...
متن کاملAn Overview of Technological Developments in Medical Applications of X-Rays and Radioactivity
The years 1895 to 1898 were momentous for their impact on health and human well beings. First, Wilhelm Roentgen noted a glowing fluorescent screen, caused by invisible rays. This event subsequently led to the discovery of X-rays in 1895, and thus the birth of the “atomic ageâ€. Next Becquerel’s investigations of these mysterious rays led to his experiments with uranium salt crystals. He th...
